The presentation of the evening meal was outstanding—truly like something from a five-star place! I was especially impressed by the chef's attention to detail. The staff went above and beyond during our stay, making our experience memorable despite a couple of minor hiccups. I would definitely stay here again, it exceeded my expectations!

I had a lovely stay in the Superior King Room. The character of the hotel stands out with heavy doors and creaking floors, giving it a unique charm. The location couldn't be better, just a short walk from the train station, perfect for my travels. The staff were friendly and always ready to help, making the check-in process smooth. I appreciated the complimentary tea and coffee facilities in the room, along with the comfortable bed. On the downside, the room was quite warm, and the fan didn’t work properly, which made it a bit uncomfortable at times. I also noticed the breakfast service was inconsistent. sometimes there weren't enough utensils available. Despite a few hiccups, I found the experience enriching due to the hotel's history and ambiance.

The noise from the train station is intolerable at night!!! Air conditioning would significantly improve comfort during hot spells!!! Addressing plumbing issues like insufficient hot water would enhance guest satisfaction!!!

stayed for 2 nights at the great northern. the superior king room was lovely with an extremely comfortable bed, perfect after our 8-mile hike. the management was great, offering refunds due to a boiler issue. the location was ideal, just a stroll through the bushes from the train station.

I had a lovely stay and appreciated the hotel’s proximity to Peterborough Cathedral, which I reached in less than a 10-minute stroll, and enjoyed a relaxing walk to Cathedral Square, just a bit farther down the road, making my city exploration seamless and satisfying. The room was quite comfortable, perfect for a single traveler like me, although the television didn’t work during my stay but that was a minor hiccup in an otherwise enjoyable experience.

The stay was enjoyable due to its proximity to the railway station, making it easy for us to explore the area. The room was spacious and the bathroom was quite large, which added to our comfort. we did experience some delays at check-in and during breakfast service, which could be improved.
